The Role
Welcome customers and guide them through our boat operations. Support the smooth delivery of every trip by ensuring a great customer experience, caring for equipment, managing facilities, maintaining health and safety standards and handling a bit of administration. Assist with local marketing when needed, respond to customer enquiries and bookings, monitor behaviour on the water and help guests when issues arise. Evening and weekend work is required.

About UsWe are the team behind Barge East and Skuna Boats, operating unique, award-winning hospitality and leisure experiences in London. With a combined team of around 60-70 people, we are a fast-paced, growing business. We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finances and help ensure our continued profitability.
The Role
Reporting directly to the founders, you will be the financial engine of the business. You will manage everything from payroll to reporting, working closely with our external accountants and ensuring our margins stay healthy.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll for our team of 60-70 staff, handling variable hours, rotas, and hospitality specific complexities.
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date daily financial records across both businesses.
Reporting: Produce monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for the founders.
Accountant Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our external accountants, ensuring a smooth year-end process.
Commercial & Profitability: Carry out routine stock checks (F&B and leisure supplies), analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), and proactively flag areas where we can improve margins and profitability.
About You
Experienced in an SME finance environment (hospitality or leisure sector experience is a massive bonus).
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing your own workload.
Strong understanding of payroll software and accounting systems (e.g., Xero).
A strong communicator who can translate financial data into clear business advice.

Location: London (Hybrid: Mix of office and home-based)
Hours: Part-time (Approx. 24 hours/week). We are highly flexible on how these hours are structured — whether that's 3 full days, 4 shorter days (e.g., 9:30 am – 3:30 pm), or another arrangement that works for your life.
Pay: £50,000 to £65,000 per annum (will be pro rata'd depedent on hours)
